Pat Bashengezi

Director

Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Human Services at La Trobe University

Experience

Pat is a qualified social worker from La Trobe University, having graduated in 2011. Pat has more than 11 years’ experience in social work. In those years, he has developed expertise in working with people with serious disabilities; including mental illness and associated problems.

Drawing on theories of social work, social sciences, psychology, humanities, and Indigenous knowledge, Pat focuses on the interface between the individual and the environment. He recognizes the impact of social, economic, and cultural factors on the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Consequently, Pat has always ensured that service delivery is of the highest standard by adhering to the principles and practices of the relevant guidelines such as the NDIS Practice Standard and Quality Indicators 2020.

Pat believes in recovery-oriented practice and the provision of capacity building support. It is through these approaches that we can assist clients to gain and retain hope and understand their abilities, disabilities, the importance of engagement in active life, personal autonomy, social identity, meaning and a positive sense of self. We believe this is all key to achieving personal goals and aspirations.

At Ahanacare we understand that your needs are individual and unique, and that an NDIS plan can provide a platform tailored to your specific needs.
